i think MIA is completely bad ass. i respect the fact that she apparently doesn’t give a fuck. here’s a recent interview she did for NME. she has great teeth too haha
yesterday we played william paterson university’s braveathon; a celebration of local music supported by the school’s radio and tv. sweet vibes were had! did any of you guys happen to catch it?
we were slated to play promptly at 2pm, so we arrived around 1:30 and were quickly put into place. they gave us exactly 28 minutes to play music which would then be followed by a 7 minute interview.
we played a bunch of songs off our new EP we’re about to record as well as two fun covers: coney island and play crack the sky. the latter wasn’t rehearsed but was quite spontaneous and totally worth it. that song is amazing and mike’s trumpet on it brings another dimension to it.
the interview was cool. we talked about our past, present, future, and our new EP. everyone at the tv and radio station were all super nice and easy to work with. i can tell they were a little stressed so i tried to be as simple and easy as possible.
thanks william paterson university for having us play! we’re excited to participate next year as well.
